Since 2010, we have led the US based effort to promote and grow ocean lifeguarding capabilities in Montanita, Ecuador. Every year a small cadre of California lifeguard volunteers travel to the beach. We carry donated equipment, participate in the exchange of knowledge and methods, and save as many lives as we can.
Our Mission
To assist the Montanita Lifeguards in the effectiveness of their daily work to save lives by providing donated rescue equipment, volunteer work over the annual Carnival holiday, and continued support toward the goal of achieving a sustainable and independent lifeguard agency.
More About US
We are proud of what we have accomplished as freelance volunteer lifeguards in Montanita, and pleased to announce that after many years of lifesaving efforts we have finally, as of 2018, formed a Foundation (501c3, non-profit) to support this ongoing effort. The volunteer lifeguards have always paid their own way, and will continue to do so. We consider it an honor to work down there with our fellow brothers in Lifesaving. Additionally, none of the foundations board members or directors are being paid. We are happy to volunteer our time for this cause.
